Maintenance Technician Jobs in Rhode Island
A Maintenance Technician in the maintenance and installation industry is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various equipment, machines, and systems. They perform preventative maintenance, inspect machinery for potential issues, diagnose problems, and carry out necessary repairs or replacements. They should also have good communication skills for effectively interacting with colleagues, supervisors, and clients. A Maintenance Technician should also be able to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints. Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance Technician (CMT), Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT), or a certificate in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing can be beneficial. Prior to becoming a Maintenance Technician, a person might have roles such as Maintenance Assistant, Handyman, or an Apprentice in a specific trade like electrician or plumber.
