Maintenance Supervisor Jobs
A Maintenance Supervisor in the maintenance and installation industry oversees the repair and upkeep of buildings and mechanical systems in a company. Their role includes inspecting equipment, assigning tasks, setting schedules, enforcing safety policies and procedures, and ensuring that repair work and installations are completed on time and meet quality standards. They also track inventory, order supplies, negotiate with vendors and contractors, and maintain a maintenance budget. They may also be responsible for training and supervising the maintenance staff.
The important skills for a Maintenance Supervisor include leadership, communication, problem-solving, and technical skills, as well as knowledge of safety procedures and regulations. They should also be proficient in the use of maintenance tools and equipment. Prior to becoming a Maintenance Supervisor, an individual might have roles such as Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or Facilities Manager, which provide valuable experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment and facilities.
